Water system tie-in causing low pressure

Temporary, but may last up to 10 days

Havre Public Works announced that it is having some reports of low water pressure, and released a statement on the issue

"We have had some calls regarding water pressures around town, so we would like to provide this update, the statement said.

"With the recent tie in of the North Central Regional Water project to our distribution system, we had to reroute some of the water running in town. This meant using a smaller diameter pipe to supply some of the areas of town. Using a smaller delivery pipe means a small loss of pressure at the service lines. This results in a lower pressure being delivered to the end consumer.

"We only expected a couple days of interruption, but were informed that it will likely be closer to 10 days.

"We understand the frustration that arises from lower pressures, showers not being as powerful, sprinklers not watering correctly, etc. and we apologize for this inconvenience, but this is a necessary step that we have to take in order to provide quality water to our residents," the statement concluded.
