Lights hope for turnaround at home

Things haven't gone too well for the Montana State Universaity-Northern football team of late. And, MSU-N, led by veteran head coach Jerome Souers, is hoping a return to Tilleman Field is just what the doctor ordered.

Northern is back at home this Saturday to face Southern Oregon in a battle at Tilleman Field.

The Lights, come in at 0-4 in the Frontier, and have lost five straight games since they opened the season with a win over Mayville State. Northern's offense also comes in really struggling, as the Lights managed just four first downs and 17 total yards of offense in last week's loss at No. 8 College of Idaho.

MSU-N has really struggled to move the ball of late, as the Lights have a young quarterback and have had a lot of injury problems. And things won't get any easier this Saturday as the Raiders come to Havre.

SOU (2-2, 3-3) crushed Arizona Christian 49-7 last Saturday, with over 500 yards of total offense. Veteran quarterback Blake Asciutto is the catalyst for the SOU offense, which has been very explosive, but also very balanced this season, so the Northern defense, which is allowing over 40 points per game, will have its work cut out for it.

The Lights are also looking to take advantage of playing another home game before heading to Montana Western next Saturday, and then hosting Montanna Tech in their home finale, Nov. 4.

Northern meets SOU Saturday at 1 p.m. at Tilleman Field.
