Snow blankets parts of Patterson Park in Havre Tuesday afternoon. While this part of north-central Montana did not get dumped on like other parts of the state - see a related story on Page A5 - it snowed steadily Tuesday through this morning. While the National Weather Service website was missing the amount of snow recorded at its Havre reporting station, it did report a record amount of precipitation, .23 inches, for Oct. 24, breaking the previous record of .19 inches set in 2001. A winter weather advisory is in effect for Liberty, Hill and Blaine counties through 6 p.m. Thursday and Chouteau County and southern Hill and Blaine counties are on the northern edge of a winter storm warning effective through 6 p.m. tonight. Up to 4 inches of snow is predicted to fall in this area today, with the fall becoming lighter. However, an inch to 3 inches more is expected through Thursday night.
