News you can use

From the Fringe … We'll keep doing our very best to cover you all this winter. I promise

It’s hard to believe, but the high school winter sports season is already upon us.

As always, wrestling kicks things off, and then, hoops and swimming follow right behind. And I know once again, the Hi-Line is going to be a hotbed for winter sports once again.

It seems year-in-and-year-out, the constants for winter around Havre and the Hi-Line are: cold and sports. And this next three months will be no different.

One thing that will be a little different again is how we’re covering our area sports right now. Once again, we at the Havre Daily News will do our very best to bring you as much sports coverage as we possibly can, and we’ll use every avenue we have at our disposal to do that.

However, both Kason, and I will be again doing it remotely, which will make things this winter a little different than what we, or you are used to. But, as different as things may be, we will be diligent in making sure we get your results and photos into the HDN each and every week. We’ll do everything we can to make sure that sports are still a very big part of what we do at the Havre Daily.

On that note, we could certainly use your help in executing that.

While covering local sports remotely isn’t ideal, we were able to do it pretty well this fall, thanks in part to the coaches and athletic directors who reached out and helped keep us informed.

So, I’m asking that that continues this winter. We know, there’s a lot to get covered during winter sports, and we aim to cover it all, one way or another. But we can’t do that without your help. So, please, don’t hesitate to e-mail or text results, quotes and photos. We will publish everything we get from you, as coaches, ADs and others. We will definitely appreciate all of your help in making sure that we get our great sports scene in Havre and beyond into the pages of the HDN over the winter season.

So, from someone who will very much miss seeing you all in the gyms this winter, good luck area athletes, coaches, officials and fans. Have a great winter season, and just know, we’ll keep doing our best to cover it in the manner you’ve come to expect from us at the Havre Daily News.
