Blue Ponies head to Cut Bank to start new year

After their winter break, the Havre High wrestling teams will begin 2024 with the Cut Bank Invite this weekend. With the postseason fast approaching, the Blue Ponies will be looking for a strong showing in this tournament.

Both the HHS boys and girls wrestling teams will compete in the tournament this weekend. The Ponies will compete against wrestlers from schools such as Big Sandy, Chinook, Chester-Joplin-Inverness, Cut Bank, Lewistown, Fort Benton, Harlem and Malta.

The Ponies’ best wrestlers will look to do well at the Cut Bank Invite. In his last tournament, Havre’s Reed Mantle finished fifth wrestling in the 126-pound weight class. Reinhard Bold is also coming off a fifth-place finish where he wrestled at 152 pounds.

Tommy Lewis is coming off a tournament where he took fifth at 285 pounds. Other Ponies who look to place again after doing so in their last tournament include Matt Lemer, Carson Harris and Pierce Caplette. The HHS girls team will be represented by Aliyah Stiffarm and Angelina Siebanaller, who also placed in their most recent tournament.

The HHS wrestling teams will begin the Cut Bank Invite Friday at noon.
