Havre Police Department

A small wallet with a flower design was reported lost on Fifth Avenue Monday at 11:22 a.m.

The Child Abuse Hotline made a report for someone in the Havre area Monday at 2:02 p.m.

--

A 2:46 p.m. Monday report of a sex offense in the Havre area was referred to another law enforcement agency.

--

A caller at 2:50 p.m. Monday reported finding two birth certificates outside Hill County Courthouse.

--

A caller at 4:05 p.m. Monday reported that two birth certificates had been stolen on Ninth Avenue.

--

A 16-year-old was arrested on charges of assault on a minor and partner or family member assault with reasonable apprehension after a Fourth Avenue caller reported a domestic disturbance Monday at 4:59 p.m. The juvenile was transferred to the juvenile detention center in Great Falls.

Jeffery Scott Werk of Harlem, 34, was arrested on a state District Court warrant and Keenan Jay Fetter of Harlem, 37, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants after a vehicle stop on First Street Monday at 9:22 p.m.

Jeron Joseph Sinclair of Havre, 23, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant after a caller on Third Street West reported at 10:46 p.m. Monday that a man had stolen some medications and then jumped out the window.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a Monday 11:43 p.m. caller reported a Havre area friend had messaged saying a drunk male was pounding on the door and trying to get in.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Harold James Watson of Box Elder, 38, was arrested on a state District Court warrant served Monday at 11:31 a.m. at Hill County Detention Center, where Watson has been held since Dec. 19.

Marcella Jean Noland of Havre, 52, was arrested on three Justice or City court warrants served at the detention center at 7:13 p.m. Monday.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to three calls Monday and one call early this morning.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm on the 10 Block of Third Street West where burnt food had triggered the alarm which required a reset.

Firefighters responded to two carbon monoxide alarms early this morning. At 2:55 a.m. on the 1000 Block of 20th Street the alarm was signaling a low battery and at 3:23 a.m. on the 300 Block of Ninth Street carbon monoxide was detected due to a furnace that will need repaired. The apartment building had to be evacuated, but no one was injured, and NorthWestern Energy took over at the scene.

Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said that these incidences are a good reminder that this is a good time to replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. He added that while smoke detectors are placed high on a wall because smoke is lighter than air, carbon monoxide detectors should be lower, at about electrical plug-in height, because the deadly gas is heavier than air. The detectors should be placed near any gas appliance and in basements.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held six cats of unknown gender, a 21-week-old male kitten and two male cats.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held 11 puppies between 16 weeks and 9 months old, and one female mixed-breed dog.
