Blue Pony wrestling set for Class A Duals

As the postseason inches closer and closer, the Havre High boys wrestling team will use their few remaining competitions of the regular season to prepare. This weekend, the Blue Ponies will head to Butte to compete in the Class A Duals against teams they will later face in the postseason.

In the Class A Duals, the Ponies will compete in pool play and wrestle in duals against other teams in their pool. Once pool play is over, the Ponies will get put in a bracket and will then compete in duals through the rest of the weekend as they try to bring home a trophy.

In Butte, the Ponies will face competition from programs such as Dillon, Bigfork, Billings Central, Browning, Butte Central, Columbia Falls, Corvallis, Miles City, Glendive, East Helena, Lewistown, Frenchtown, Hamilton, Hardin, Laurel, Libby/Troy, Lockwood, Livingston, Polson, Ronan, Sidney, Stevensville, Three Forks/Ennis and Whitefish.

As the Ponies look to compete, they will need their best wrestlers to do well this weekend. After finishing second at last weekend's Rocky Mountain Classic, wrestlers such as Reinhard Bold and Tommy Lewis will look to do well again this weekend. Other wrestlers that placed last weekend and will look to carry over that performance into the Class A Duals include Tucker Stygles, Matt Lemer, Carson Harris, Tristan Stygles, Landen Caplette, Pierce Caplette and Mason Wilting.

While the boys are in Butte, the HHS girls wrestling team will compete in the Fergus Girls Invite in Lewistown. At that tournament, the Ponies will wrestle against schools such as Dillon, Chester-Joplin-Inverness, Conrad, Miles City, Cut Bank, Lewistown, Harlem, Laurel, Lockwood, Ronan and Sidney. Wrestlers such as Allyson Kaul, McKenna Caplette, Brooklyn Wilting, Angelina Siebanaller and Aliyah Stiffarm will look to do well this weekend.

The HHS boys wrestling team will begin the Class A Duals in Butte this Friday at noon.
