Montana Seed Show returns to Harlem this week

Events set from Thursday through Saturday

The Montana Seed Show is back, having missed only one year in a nonstop run since 1949.

The show was canceled in 2021 when the Harlem High School was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but came back in 2022 and 2023 and returns Thursday through Friday this week.

The event originally brought local potato farmers together to compare their crops, but has evolved into a mainstay event, with agricultural events and judging still a major part. Other events, like the pie contest, bread contest, art show and more have become main draws as well.

Thursday this week is primarily setup for events like the ag exhibits, woodworking, educational and commercial booths and the art show.

Friday includes a health fair put on by Rocky Mountain Biometrix as well as the opening of the exhibit buildings, pie and bread entries and judging, the first day of the quilt show as well as the pie and bread auction and merchandise drawing, a pancake supper and a quick art competition.

The events continue Saturday including the quilt show and a classic car show, culminating in an awards ceremony and live auction before takedown begins at 4 p.m.
