News you can use
The weather was great for golf last weekend, and though it's taking a turn for the worse in Havre this week, league golf is still on the horizon.
Tonight, the Prairie Farms Men's League will hold its annual meeting. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Club House at Prairie Farms. All teams should be represented if possible.
Beaver Creek Golf Course has already held its Men's League meeting.
I'll take this time to remind all league secretaries to please send me any results you wish entered in this column each week to [email protected].
Both Prairie Farms and BCGC are open for business and course conditions have been very good this early season. As we all know, how the courses come out of winter can always be a crap shoot up north, but here's to both courses having a great spring and summer!
Speaking of great. I know you all watched Scottie Scheffler win the Masters this past weekend. What an incredible performance under extremely difficult conditions. What I love about Scheffler the most is how unflappable he seems. Does he win every tournament? No. But, damn, he's tough to beat every single week. He just keeps getting the job done. He doesn't seem to get rattled. He's not too high and he's not too low. He's just extremely steady and extremely mentally tough. And that, combined with being the most deadly iron player on the planet right now, has turned him into the best player in the world, and it's not even remotely close.
Young golfers and aspiring high school golfers. You can learn a lot from watching Scheffler. But the biggest thing you should all take away from him - his mental ability. He just doesn't let a bad shot ruin his round. And that's the key. Move on to the next shot.
Again, please remember to email any content you wish to be published in the From Tee to Green each week.
