Skylights ink two North Idaho transfers

Montana State University-Northern head women’s basketball coach Chris Mouat has landed two key recruits for next season, both with ties to Montana.

Mouat has announced the signing of Addie Kiefer to join the Skylight program this fall.  Kiefer is a 5-10 forward who recently completed a two-year career at North Idaho College.

This season, Kiefer averaged 11.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.  She had season-highs of 29 points and 17 rebounds.  She was a Scenic West (Region 18) Player of the Week and was named a Second Team All-Conference selection.

"Addie is a very athletic forward" said Mouat. She is active in transition, finishes very well around the rim, and has the ability to drive it from the perimeter.  She runs the floor extremely well and picks up a lot of baskets in transition.  We are extremely excited to have her in a Skylight uniform.  She shot over 50 percent from the field, many times against much taller players."

Kiefer is a 2022 graduate of Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Idaho.  She was her class valedictorian.

“Addie is another great addition to our program and to MSU-Northern.  She is an outstanding student with a 3.99 grade point average.  She is a big addition for us,” Mouat said

Addie is the daughter of Tim and Mandy Kiefer.  She plans on majoring in Integrated Health Science at MSU-Northern.

Earlier this week, Mouat announced the signing of Maddie Williamson to join the Skylights next season.  Williamson, a 5-foot-7 guard, recently completed her freshman season at North Idaho College.

This season, Williamson averaged 11.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2 assists for the Cardinals.  She recorded season-highs of 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals.

"We had the chance to watch Maddie in high school and I think she had a really good year at North Idaho,” said Mouat.  “She was highly-decorated at Malta and has made bring strides.  She is aggressive at both ends of the floor.  She shot a really good percentage from the field and is more than capable from the three-point line.  We are really excited to have her on board and playing close to home."

  A 2023 graduate of Malta High School, Williamson was a three-time All-Conference selection and a three-time Class B All-State pick.

"Maddie is a great addition to our program and university.  She brings a lot to the floor and is also a high-achieving student.  With three years of eligibility, we are really excited about what she can do here,” Mouat said.

Williamson is the daughter of Shey and Lesa Williamson.  She plans on majoring in Integrated Health Science at MSU-Northern.
