    Editor's note: This clarifies that the service starts Jan. 1 The Havre Police Department released a statement Monday that said, starting Jan. 1, emergency calls to 911 in Havre and the rest of Hill County can be made though a text message. “It is important to understand to call 911 if you can, and text 911 if you can’t,” the release said.     The Salvation Army Havre Service Center is close to $10,000 short from its goal of $28,000 for this year's Red Kettle Campaign, although a pledged donation by a local service club will help a bit.     Tuesday, Chippewa Cree Law Enforcement Services increased the rewards from $1,000 to $10,000 each for any information about the disappearances of Richard “Smokey” Roasting Stick and Robert Alexander.     A state district judge recommended Casey O. Mummey be placed in a treatment program when he sentenced Mummey to three years for violating conditions of his release for failing to register as a violent offender in 2015. Judge Jon Oldenburg of Lewistown said Mummey has been in the system for 16 years, with all offenses likely drug-related, and while he wanted to put Mummey in a treatment program community-based treatment has not worked previously.     Havre Daily News Staff A state District Judge revoked a deferred imposition of sentence and resentenced a man who pleaded guilty to embezzling thousands of dollars from a local store to three years probation. James Christopher Dahl Jr. pleaded guilty in 2017 to stealing $9,000 from the Havre Kmart while working as a supervisor.
