Pony spikers come up short in upset bid; defeat Livingston

The Havre High volleyball team has made great strides in 2003, but the Ponies took perhaps their biggest step forward in two years as they earned a dramatic split at a triangular meet with Livingston and Lewistown Saturday afternoon at the Fergus High Gymnasium.

The Blue Ponies opened the day by picking up a three-game win over the Livingston Runnin' Rangers. Havre returned to the floor later in the day and played perhaps one of the best matches a Pony team has played in several seasons, taking the host Eagles to five games before falling in the decisive game.
