GEORGE N. WOLF Obituary

George N. Wolf, 65, of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Havre, died Jan. 26, 2004, at Odyssey Hospice after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Bunkers University Chapel in Mesa. Interment of ashes will be at the Hill County Cemetery in Havre.

George was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Drake, N.D., to Anton and Anna Marie (Schafer) Wolf. He was reared and educated in the Drake area.

He married Gail Gange on Oct. 13, 1959, in Karlsruhe, N.D. They lived in Minot, N.D., and Havre, and for the past 17 years in Mesa.

George was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks for 36 years, and a past member of Rotary International, the Eagles and the Knights of Columbus. George worked in lumber sales and was the yard superintendent at Alliance Lumber in Queen Creek, Ariz., at the time of his death.

He enjoyed following the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Most of all George was a kind and caring husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed following the activities of his grandsons and was an avid high school and collegiate wrestling fan, attending many wrestling tournaments across the nation to watch his grandsons. George was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Peter, Edward and Philip; and a sister, Magdalena.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail, of Mesa; daughters, Karla (Doug) Fisher and Jodi (Dan) Korb, both of Havre; sister, Agnes (Kenny) Rieniets of West Fargo, N.D.; sisters-in-law, Barbara Wolf and Marcella Wolf of Towner, N.D.; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Helen) Gange of Punkin Center, Ariz. and Dale (Elizabeth) Gange of Minot; five grandsons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
