Big Sandy locks up 9C title; Hawks still unbeaten

One week. That is all that stands between local girls basketball teams and the postseason.

This past weekend Big Sandy solidified its hold on the District 9C girls standings and Chester/J-I did the same in District 10C.

In Class B action on Friday night, the Harlem Wildcats picked up a much-needed win in Shelby. Harlem defeated the Coyotes 51-36.

Leandra Thomas continued her fine play by scoring a game-high 15 points. Danielle Dirden and Ida Mountain Chief added 10 points apiece.
