School elections across Hi-Line seeking funds and trustees

Tuesday is school district election day for districts across the Hi-Line, and the districts' constituencies have choices, in varying combinations levies and trustees.

The Havre Daily News will have the results of each election as soon as they come in on havredailynews.com.

Chinook

Chinook Public Schools have no trustees up for election this year, but they are running three mill levies:

A high school general fund levy of $40,208.29.

An elementary school general fund levy of $28,083.31

An elementary building reserve levy request for $40,000 a year for five years.

North Star

North Star schools are running one mill levy, a high school general fund levy for $93,312.79.

Harlem

Harlem schools are not running any levies, but they do have two three-year trustee positions available.

Voters in Harlem have five choices for the two seats: Julia Doney, Thomas Green, Emery Gray, Michele Lewis and Douglas Stuart.

Chester/Joplin-Inverness

C/J-I schools have no trustee elections, but are running two levies: an elementary school levy of $105,642.33 and a high school levy of $31,892.18.

Cottonwood

Cottonwood schools are running two levies, one for the general fund and one for building reserve funds, both for $13,312.

Big Sandy

Voters in Big Sandy will be voting on both trustee seats and mill levies.

Three candidates are running for two three-year positions: Brandon Gasvoda, Darin Genereux and Diana LaBuda.

The schools are running an elementary district levy of $2,768.55 and a high school district levy of $27,201.56.

Box Elder

Box Elder schools have raised no levy, but will be voting on two three-year trustee seats.

Three candidates are running for the two seats: Joseph Rosette Jr., Christine Gilot and Connie J. Morsette.

Rocky Boy

Rocky Boy schools are not running any levies but are voting on two trustee seats.

The two seats are being sought by the two incumbents, Martin Parker and Joseph J. Lafromboise, and seven additonal candidates: Florencine "Dixie" Stump, Raymond W. Parker (Jazz), Warren P. Small Sr., Morris St. Pierre, Selina K. Johnson, Russell Standing Rock and Billie Jo Coffee.
