Fair board sets new rates for booths at the Great Northern Fair

Hoping to assure fairness, the Hill County Fair Board Tuesday approved changing the way rates are set for booths at the Great Northern Fair.

Fairgrounds manager Tim Solomon told the board he was amenable to changing the system, but the question was who would be charged more. Some groups set up booths just to provide information, others sell items or raffle tickets at the fair, while others are gathering contact and client information for sales in the future.

"I just think you need to separate them out, " he said.
