Jolene Sargent

Jolene Sargent, 80, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Chad Leathermon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jolene's honor may be made to the Bear Paw Hospice, c/o NMH, P.O. Box 1231, Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Jolene Sargent

Jolene was born July 2, 1932, to Clyde and Cecil (Gipson) Jackson in Dunbar, Okla. When she was a young girl, she moved with her family to Arizona. She attended grade school in Coolidge, Ariz., and high school in Flagstaff, Ariz. She married Kenneth "Mac" Sargent on Jan. 14, 1948, in Flagstaff, Ariz. Together they moved to Chinook, Mont., and then to Havre and raised their family. Jolene worked for Northern Montana Hospital in Havre as a surgical assistant and retired from central supply at the hospital. She worked various places after retiring, the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, Carlson Shoes and Conrad's Clothing. Her favorite job was being the cook for Eagles Manor, where she later lived. Jolene was a selfless person, always giving to others and working hard. She enjoyed traveling once a year to Arizona. She was a wonderful baker and quietly reserved.

She was a member of Fifth Avenue Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles auxiliaries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth "Mac" Sargent; two brothers, Leon and Don Jackson; one sister, Ann Presley; and her granddaughter, Natalie Patrick

Jolene is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Tom) Patrick of Havre; her three sons, Clyde (Janice) Sargent of Great Falls, Mont., Rodney (Susan) Sargent of Billings, Mont., and Randy (Susan) Sargent of Spring, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
