Helen Hanson

Helen F. Hanson passed away Oct. 15, 2012, at the Fallon County Medical Complex, Baker, Mont.

She was born in Laurel, Mont., Aug. 14, 1926, to Fred and Elizabeth Feuerbacher. Helen married Clifford H. Hanson on Nov. 17, 1945, and together they raised three children, Cliff Jr., Janet and Steven.

During her married life, Helen and her family lived in Conrad, Moccasin, Box Elder, and Outlook. When Cliff retired from his career as superintendent of schools, the couple settled in Redstone, Mont., where Helen worked for dentist Dr. Tom Lidahl in Plentywood.

Later Cliff and Helen joined the "snowbird" circuit and resided in Yuma, Ariz., for the winter months. After Cliff suffered a massive stroke in 1995, Helen became his full-time caregiver, but they continued the snowbird life until 2009, when they relocated in Baker to be near their daughter, Jan.

Family was always important to Helen. She looked forward to family visits and especially loved August when the family gathered in Big Sky for a week of golfing, swimming, card playing and visiting.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lydia; and brothers, George and Fred; and a grandson, Scott.

Survivors include Helen's husband, Cliff; son, Cliff (Sheila) Hanson; daughter, Jan (Steve) Stickney; and son, Steve (Jenny) Hanson; as well as nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Helen F. Hanson will be at 11 a. m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.

Memorials can be made to the Special K Ranch, Box 479, Columbus, MT 59019.
