JoAnn was born on Nov. 22, 1940, in Havre, to Kenneth and Mabel (Randall) Christopherson. She was raised in Havre, attending school here. In November 1957, she married Charles Hergesheimer in Havre, and their union was blessed with three children. The couple remained in Havre, where for the first several years, JoAnn remained home caring for her children and her husband. When the youngest child began school, JoAnn began working for the school district as a cook, first at Lincoln-McKinley, and then at Havre High School, where she remained until her retirement after 26 years of service to our community's children.

Following her retirement in 2001, the couple camped, golfed and fished, and JoAnn delighted in spending as much time with her grandchildren as she was able. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, flower gardening and lawn care, especially mowing the lawn. She delighted in playing games with her family such as pinochle, cribbage, crazy 8s and rummy and farkle. She and Charles enjoyed listening and dancing to country western music. JoAnn was a sweet, patient and kind woman who never complained. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Havre Eagles Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parent, Kenneth and Mabel Christopherson, and her three brothers, Kenny, Norman and Ray Christopherson.

JoAnn is survived by Charles, her beloved husband of 57 years, of Havre; her daughter, Leanna (Justin) Magnussen of Havre; her sons, David (Karin) Hergesheimer of Kalispell and Rob (Linda) Hergesheimer of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her seven grandchildren; and her sister, Wanda O'Donnell of Havre.
