Police probe casino assault

Havre Police Department arrested Jamie Eagleman, 25, of Havre on felony charges of attempted homicide and several other charges after a stabbing incident at Magic Diamond Casino on 1st Street West late Wednesday night, the department said in a press release this morning.

She was also charged two counts of assault on a peace officer, three counts of assault with a weapon, robbery, theft and two counts of resisting arrest Wednesday evening.

Police said someone called the department at 11:29 p.m. to report a theft by a woman wearing a black coat and black beanie at the Town Pump gas station on 1st Street West.

As the woman left the store, a witness tried to stop her, prompting the woman to threaten the witness with a knife, the release said. The female entered a black vehicle and left eastbound on 1st Street.

While officers were investigating the Town Pump incident, police received a second call at 11:42 p.m., this time from neighboring Magic Diamond Casino. The caller said a woman was stabbed while she was in the casino.

Havre Fire Department was dispatched and the stabbing victim was taken to Northern Montana Hospital.

Officers subsequently arrested Eagleman and transported her to the Hill County Detention Center, where she is being held without bond as the investigation progresses.
