State Wrestling 2018: Ponies bring plenty of firepower to the Metra

Just like his Blue Pony team, Havre High senior Tyler Schaub, top, is on a mission at the All-Class State Tournament this weekend in Billings. Schaub won a state title as a sophomore but missed last year's state tourney due to a knee injury. But back now, Schaub is the favorite at 205 pounds in Class A. The HDN will have complete coverage of the state tourney throughout the weekend and in Monday's Hi-Line Sports Roundup.

Whatever has happened the last 12 weeks, it doesn't matter now. The Havre Blue Ponies are going to Billings with only one intention ­ winning a sixth straight Class A state championship.

This week, it doesn't matter that the Ponies lost twice in duals to Sidney, or that they came out on the short end of the team scores at last week's Eastern A Divisional in Belgrade. No, the only thing that matters now is how the 14 HHS grapplers wrestle inside the Rimrock Auto Arena Friday and Saturday.
