Pizza Hut fundraiser set for Wacee Simenson

A young Chinook boy has had a good prognosis on his battle with cancer, but the battle continues, as do fundraisers to help his family pay the costs of his treatment.

Wacee Simenson, 7, is transferring this week from a hospital in Denver to continue treatment, and a fundraiser is set Thursday at Pizza Hut to help with the ongoing costs.

Whenever anyone making a purchase at Pizza Hut that day says they are donating to Wacee’s account, 20 percent of the purchase price will go to his fundraiser.

His family and friends also have a fundraiser set for May 5 in the Community Building at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.

The active boy’s life turned upside down Feb. 9 when, after having flu-like symptoms, his family took him to the doctor.

They were told he had t-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma and a football-sized tumor was detected in his chest.

Within two days he was in Denver receiving treatment.

Last week, an examination showed the tumor appears to be gone, though treatment will continue for some time.
