He was born Aug. 9, 1959, in Glasgow, Montana, to Robert Eugene and Dorothy May (Robbins) Swagerty.

Kevin was one of the most joyously memorable people you could ever meet. He made instant friendships wherever he went. He had a wonderfully unique sense of humor and was a great storyteller. He was a talented tradesman and helped build many beautiful custom homes around the Gallatin Valley for over 25 years.

He loved being physically active and enjoyed hiking, biking, and lifting weights. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bulls (the Michael Jordan era). He also enjoyed following professional boxing and Golden Era bodybuilding.

He had a strong interest in politics and classic literature and loved getting lost in a good book. He loved traveling with his family and had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Florida Keys and the grandeur of the Alaskan wilderness. Kevin and Amanda had the trip of a lifetime when they traveled to China to bring home their beautiful baby girl, Lilly. Kevin was an exceptionally devoted father and a wonderful husband. He was a very kind and generous man who would happily and readily lend a hand to anyone in need. His heart was tender, pure, and transparent, and full of love for God. He was also a terrific son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle. His priority was always his family including those of the canine variety.

Kevin will be deeply missed and remembered with great affection and love by all who knew him. Kevin will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Amanda; his precious daughter, Lilly; parents, Robert and Dorothy Swagerty; and brother, Shawn (Heather). He is also remembered fondly by his mother- and father-in-law, Daniel and Rikki Wessol; sister-in-law, Lee Anne (Vazul) Gabor and their sons, Nicholas and Noah. He is also survived by his daughter, Amber (Ari) Niemi; and son, Christopher Iwen.
