Obituary - Mary Mildred (Huestis) Hutchinson

Mary Mildred (Huestis) Hutchinson passed away on November 30th, 2018, at the age of 63.

Mary will forever be remembered by her husband of 42 years, Darrold, and her children, Matthew, Tyler, and Michael. The fifth of seven children born to Roy and Betty Huestis of Hingham, Montana, Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Bonnie Huestis, Peggy Huestis, and Cindy Keaster. Mary was blessed with seven grandchildren, Charles, Nora, William, Olivia, Bailey, Ben, and Luke; her beloved horse, Bette, and her ever-present Lab, Cash. Mary cherished being involved with her much-loved nieces and nephews, Kelsey and Morgan, Sam and Corbin, and Josh and Kava.

Mary was preceded by her father, mother, brother Ron, and sisters Diane and Deborah.

A native of Hingham, Montana, Mary attended Hingham High School and then studied dental hygiene at Sheridan College, Sheridan, Wyoming. Mary worked as a dental hygienist in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, for two years while her husband, Darrold, taught vo-ag in Albin, Wyoming. In the summer of 1978, Darrold and Mary moved to Hingham, Montana. Mary worked as a dental hygienist in Havre and Chester for many years, where she met more of her lifelong friends. Mary also had an entrepreneurial bent, not only helping run and work the family farm, but also making custom crafts and putting on a "Victorian County Christmas" in Great Falls with a longtime dear friend.

Mary had a great love of family; being a mother and grandmother brought some of her life's greatest joys. She enjoyed spending time with her horses, whether riding them casually, training them, or taking them on a lengthy endurance ride. In the evenings one could often find Mary at the card table, playing Pinochle, Rook, or any number of other card games. All who knew Mary remember her ready smile, compassion, unwillingness to judge others, and perhaps most of all, her astonishing inner strength.

Mary's faith guided her through her entire life, helping her through her parents', brother's and two sisters' early deaths, ovarian cancer, Crohn's disease, and the perils of raising three boys. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in April and bravely lived with the disease for eight months, supported by her friends, family, and faith in God through the battle.

A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Evangelical Church in Rudyard on Saturday, December 8th, at 10:00 am.

Condolences can be made to Mary's memorial page at http://www.asperfh.com/.
