Havre's Kellen Detrick grabs a rebound during the Blue Ponies' Central A win over the Belgrade Panthers Saturday afternoon in Belgrade. The Ponies finish 2018 with road games at Malta Tuesday and CMR Friday.
The Havre High boys basketball team was hoping to do something this past weekend that it didn’t do all of last season and that was win a game within the Central A conference.
What made that challenge even tougher was the fact that both of the Blue Ponies games against Livingston and Belgrade were on the road. But in the end, it didn’t prevent Havre from getting the split it was hoping for, as the Ponies lost to Livingston 72-60 Friday, but rebounded for a 67-55 win over the Panthers Saturday in Belgrade. Havre is now 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in the Central A conference.
