Obituary - Margaret "Marge" Houser

Margaret "Marge" Houser, 93, died at her home in Fort Collins, Colorado, on January 9, 2019. 

Margaret was born August 6,1925, in Columbus, Montana, to Charles and Gladys Harlan. She was the second-eldest of four girls.

She attended nursing school in Billings, Montana, graduating in 1946.  

She met and married Ivan "Sie" Houser, and they had four children. Margaret worked as a registered nurse until 1982. 

Together, Sie and Margaret enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing, and were ferocious pinochle players! She was an avid sports fan, and when she moved to Colorado, quickly switched her allegiance to the Broncos and the Rockies. Margaret was a fun and active Grama to five grandchildren and, later, "Gigi" to 10 great-grandchildren. 

Margaret spent most of her adult life in Havre, Montana, and moved to Fort Collins in 2015 to be closer to family.  

Margaret is survived by children Nancy (Dave) Boderick, Benton City, WA; Bob Houser (Maureen Landry), Naples,FL; Karen Houser (Keith Niederman), Missoula, MT; Larry (LuAnne) Houser, Denver, CO; grandchildren Travis (Leni) McKay, Seattle,WA; Kali (Blake) Fresacher, Georgetown,TX; Sarah (Ben) Westdorp, Fort Collins,CO; Dan (Shelby) Houser, Wheaton, MD; Amy (Nick) Kilgore, Virginia Beach, VA; great-grandchildren Devon Heller, Bella Fresacher, Kashton Fresacher, Judah Westdorp, Ian Westdorp, Gabe Westdorp, Caroline Westdorp, Malachi Houser, Casen Houser and baby Kilgore; sisters Donna Schermerhorn, Renton, WA, and Helen Bailey, Montana City, MT; cousins, nieces and and nephews, as well as old and new friends.  

Thank you to her incredible "family" at Good Samaritan, who became friends and playmates! 

There will be a memorial service in the chapel at Good Samaritan Society, 508 W. Trilby Drive, Fort Collins, CO, on January 26 at 2 p.m.  She will be laid to rest with Sie in the Havre cemetery.  

Margaret will be remembered for her great sense of humor, quick wit, and love for people.
