Laura was born on May 11, 1965, in Great Falls to Kenneth “Buddy” and Mary (Nomee) Komeotis Sr. She was raised in Great Falls, attending Longfellow Elementary and Great Falls High School. In 1986, she married Tim Koop Sr., and the couple raised their three kids for the next 12 years before divorcing in 1998. That year, she married Humberto “Shorty” Luna, and the couple raised their daughter together. Early on, Laura worked as a bartender at the Mint in Big Sandy, and then as a casino attendant at Lucky Lil’s and then Crystal City Casino in Havre. She stopped working there in 2010, and began caring for her mother-in-law who she loved so much until her battle with cancer prevented her from working.

Laura was a happy, loving woman who enjoyed gambling, especially keno. She also loved to be outdoors, and camping and fishing were favorite pastimes. She enjoyed dancing and roller skating when she was younger, and became hooked on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which she conned Shorty into watching with her. She loved to spend time with her husband, and they enjoyed traveling, and just driving around sightseeing together. Her family was first with Laura, and she loved to host family gatherings, where her infectious laugh could be heard constantly. She also loved to spoil her grandchildren, especially on Christmas and their birthdays. Laura enjoyed her quiet time, as well, playing games on her iPhone or iPad, or spending time with her cats, especially her baby Bella, or her dog Shorty. Her positive attitude touched everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Tyrone Koop; sister Karla Komeotis; grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Laura is survived by her husband Shorty Luna of Rocky Boy; children, Pricilla (Vernon) Young of Rocky Boy, Timothy (Sereya) Koop Jr of Box Elder, Jessia (Trent) Standing Rock of Rocky Boy and Josephine Luna of Rocky Boy; 11 grandchildren; mother, Mary Komeotis of Rocky Boy; father, Kenneth “Buddy” (Gloria) Komeotis Sr. of Great Falls; siblings Carmen Komeotis and Kenneth Komeotis Jr., both of Rocky Boy, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
