Fire restrictions remain as fire season winds down

Counties in the area are sticking with their current approach to fire restrictions despite very few of them reporting fires in the past week.
During a regional fire call Tuesday Hill County was one of only three counties which reported any fire activity in the past week.
Hill County Commissioner Diane McLean said the area saw two human-caused fires which collectively covered about five acres but were quickly put out.
Roosevelt, another county with fire activity, fared far worse with three human-caused fires that burned 2,730 acres.
