Havre Police Department

A 12-year-old girl was issued a summons on an assault charge after a caller at Sunnyside School reported Tuesday at 9:16 a.m. that a student was assaulted on a bus Wednesday of last week.

A caller on the south side of the viaduct reported Tuesday at 10:34 a.m. his motorcycle was rear-ended, but no one was injured.

Justin James Ahenakew of Box Elder, 33, was issued a summons on a theft charge after a caller at a First Street business reported a shoplifter in the office Tuesday at 11:10 a.m.

Kaleb Steven Dobrenz of Havre, 25, was arrested on two state District Court warrants durng a vehicle stop on First Street Tuesday at 12:50 p.m.

A summons was issued related to a fight reported at Havre High School at 1:06 p.m. Tuesday. No details on charges were provided.

A caller reported Tuesday at 1:13 p.m. he was on 16th Avenue following a juvenile on a bike who had tried breaking into his car.

Two bad checks were reported at a First Street business Tuesday at 1:49 p.m.

Tuesday at 3:44 p.m., a caller at a First Street business reported a theft from the previous night.

Ashley Jane Smith of Harlem, 30, was arrested on charges of felony motor vehicle theft, driving under the influence, driving without a driver's license, reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, failure to stop and remain at an accident, failure to give notice of accident and failure to stop when emerging from an alleyway and on a Justice or City court warrant after a two-vehicle injury crash was reported on 14th Avenue at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday. Police Capt. Aaron Wittmer said that, while officers were at the scene, the 2016 white Chevrolet Malibu Smith was driving was reported stolen from an establishment on First Street West. Smith was walking after the crash but in shock, so Havre Fire Department responded with an engine and an ambulance. Smith was transported to the hospital and one other person was checked, but not transported. Wittmer said Smith became combative at the hospital and refused treatment, but displayed signs of being under the influence, so she was taken to Hill County Detention Center where a sobriety test was administered. Smith was listed in this morning's jail roster as being held with no bond.

James Gould of Havre, 60, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after a caller at a First Street West business asked Tuesday at 8:53 p.m. for assistance removing an intoxicated man.

James Darren Hobbs of Box Elder, 32, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants after a caller at a First Street business reported that a man was trying to kick in the door to a building across the street at 3:18 a.m. today.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A vehicle was reported stolen at a U.S. Highway 2 West business at 12:37 a.m. today.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to two calls Tuesday. One of the calls was in response to a vehicle crash on the 200 Block of 14th Avenue where two people were seen and one transported.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held two 11-week-old kittens, three 6-week-old kittens, four 8-week-old kittens, four 9-week-old kitten and two cats all of unknown gender, two female cats and four male cats. Another four 7-week-old kittens were being cared for in a foster home.

The shelter also held a male mixed-breed dog, three male and one female 6-month-old mixed-breed puppies, a male 7-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a female Rottweiler dog and a female mixed-breed dog. And being fostered are two 9-month-old dachshund puppies and a male mixed-breed dog.
