Albertson Construction captures Babe Ruth city title

Most eyes have been on Havre High spring sports and Havre Northstars this spring. But there are plenty of other youth athletics taking place on the Hi-Line. In the Havre Youth Baseball Association, the Babe Ruth tournament crowned a champion at the end of May at Legion Field. In the championship game, James Albertson Construction took home the trophy with an 11-5 win over Lewis Heating and Cooling.

Before the title game, both teams had to endure a single-elimination tournament to make it to the title game. In game one, Chinook defeated the American Garage Lions by a score of 11-5. In game two, James Albertson Construction won, 18-3, by run rule in three innings over Chinook. Then in game three, Lewis Heating won a close 5-4 contest over Frank Leeds Construction. In game four of the tournament, Albertson Construction defeated Lewis Heating to win the city title and finish the season undefeated.

But these teams will not be the last to compete for championships in minor league baseball over the next week. After heavy rains delayed their championship games, the majors championship will take place tonight at 6 p.m. Then Monday, the minors championship will take place at 6 p.m.
