Grief Poem - Sweet is their Memory

More folks have left, both young and old. They flew off through the air.

We miss our loved ones very much, but know our family's there.

God made us Red, Yellow, Black or White, we're all precious in His sight.

God made us all, He'll call us home, and we will be all right.

While we're down here, we miss our dears, since they were called away.

So many things we'd like to share, had they been left to stay.

Our dear one's gone - a river crossed to shore of evergreen.

We long to see our dear one's face, but river flows between.

It seems so strange that those we need and those we loved the best;

Are just the ones God called away and took them home to rest.

Our dear ones passed; poet, author, a singer was one girl.

Oh - she was loved, had some dear kin, she'd sing and do a twirl.

Some artists too, a few were quilters; others, authors of some books!

Farewell, dear ones, we miss your works; and some gals were great cooks!

Sweet are these special memories and dear are our friends' names;

Deep in our hearts we feel God's Love(1), friends love will always remain.

How rich in kindness, love and care, more than these words can say.

Young or old, kin or friend, they're thought of every day.

Grieving is hard, Lord, hold my hand, dear ones have gone ahead.

Family or friends, they are all missed, we still have tears to shed.
