Cold temperatures postpone Hi-Line basketball games

Due to the freezing cold temperatures this week on the Hi-Line, several sporting events will be either canceled or postponed. Havre High School had several games and meets scheduled for today on the road, but they will not be happening now.

Both the HHS boys and girls basketball teams were set to go on the road tonight to play Lewistown in a Northeast A conference game. But those games have now been postponed until sometime after the holiday break. After both teams won against Malta on Tuesday, both HHS basketball teams will now head into their holiday break.

The HHS wrestling teams were set to compete in the Sidney Quad tonight, but that dual was canceled. The Ponies will now head into their holiday break after last competing at the CMR Holiday Classic last weekend. The Ponies will return to the mats with a dual against Glasgow on Jan. 3.

Several other schools canceled or postponed events throughout the week. The Rocky Boy basketball teams did not play their games against Cut Bank this week. The Box Elder basketball teams also postponed their games against Turner and North Star until the new year. The basketball games between Fort Benton and Hays-Lodgepole this week were postponed to Jan. 5.

With these cancellations and postponements, many of these Hi-Line basketball teams will go into their holiday break and will not get back on the court until January when temperatures are hopefully a little warmer.
