Bruschi starts as KGVA station manager at Aaniiih Nakoda College

Press release

Aaniiih Nakoda College President Sean Chandler said he is welcoming Ron Bruschi as the new station manager for KGVA 88.1 FM Radio Station that is located on the college campus at Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.

Bruschi's voice is well-known along the northern tier of Montana from innovative ads to exciting play-by-play high school and college basketball games for his years of work with New Media Broadcasting.

Bruschi brings 27 years radio station expertise and talent to KGVA in media broadcasting, as a sports director, in sales and promotions, and with managerial skills.

"We are excited to have Ron join the ANC team, his wealth of radio knowledge will help improve KGVA's presence and communication on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation," Chandler said.

Chandler said Bruschi will bring KGVA into the digital age, a process the previous station managers, Wilbur Gray Jr. and Gerald Stiffarm, began.

With the assistance of Jack Jones, the new programming director and Sarah Green, announcer, Bruschi said he hopes to increase the station telemarketing and plans to expand the programming to include ANC happenings, community events and of course, sporting events.

Bruschi has hit the ground running, working to digitize the station, building a network of colleagues, working with consultants to renovate the transmitting tower, to hire additional personnel and meeting ANC colleagues and local residents.

KGVA 88.1 FM opened its doors in 1996 as the first Native American public radio station that broadcasts on a 90-killowatt transmitter providing a coverage area of 9,491 square miles. KGVA is an educational, non-commercial public radio station licensed through Aaniiih Nakoda College.

KGVA's mission statement supports the educational and cultural goals of ANC and serves the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation residents and adjacent Montana towns and communities.

Recently KGVA has been off-air, but the airwaves will soon be filled with Aaniinen and Nakoda words of the day, NPR programming, and local events. People can keep checking their radio dial at 88.1 FM.
