Over the weekend, the Havre High cross country teams, in this 2022 photo, continued their season with the Fergus Eagle Invitational in Lewistown. The girls team finished fourth at the meet while the boys team took seventh.
This past weekend, the Havre High cross country teams continued the season with the Fergus Eagle Invitational in Lewistown. In the crowded meet, the HHS girls team finished fourth while the HHS boys team took seventh in its meet.
The HHS girls team finished fourth in its meet after scoring 132 total points as a team. Hardin won the girls meet with a team score of 36 while Powell finished second and Lewistown took third.
Several Blue Ponies ran well for the girls team. Ashlyn Ford had another strong performance as she finished second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:23.26. Her teammate Hailey Gingery finished 19th with a time of 22:32.78.
Fellow Pony Paige Anderson recorded a time of 23:38.32 to take 35th in the meet while Clara Haslem posted a time of 23:51.95 to finish 37th. Sarah Bachmeier then finished 44th in the race with a time of 24:41.12.
The HHS boys team recorded a team score of 157 to take seventh in the meet. Hardin also won the boys meet with a team score of 74 while Laurel finished second and Miles City took third in the meet.
Caleb Tomac had the best finish for the boys team as he took second with a time of 16:17.29. His teammate Zack May finished 18th in the boys 5,000-meter race with a time of 18:37.05.
Mason Gregoire took 29th in the race with a time of 19:20.21 and his teammate Koby Preputin posted a time of 21:40.54 to finish 65th. Cesar Lara took 66th with a time of 21:51.29.
The HHS cross country teams will next compete in the Mountain West Classic at the University of Montana golf course in Missoula this Saturday.
