Area gets an unexpected dusting of snow

Warmer weather expected by weekend

Havre got a somewhat unexpected dusting of snow Wednesday, just under an inch of snow to add on to the 4 inches the area saw over the weekend.

National Weather Service is still predicting little to no precipitation in the near future, though temperatures are expected to rise substantially starting Friday.

Today the high is still expected to stay below freezing, at 27 degrees with a low of 7 and a wind chill value as low as -5.

Friday the temperature is set to rise to a high of 39 and a low of 22, and jump again Saturday to a high of 48 with a low of 28.

From there temperatures are predicted to remain consistent well into next week with highs between 49 and 51 degrees through Wednesday, and lows between 26 and 29.

Skies will be mostly clear until the weekend, which will start seeing more cloud cover, as well as more wind.

Saturday night will see between 17 and 22 mph winds, with gusts of up to 32 mph, and Sunday will see much the same, though speed will lower that evening to between 11 and 16 mph with gusts of up to 24.

Clearer skies are predicted to return Monday.
