Havre nurses ratify contract

The local nurses union Monday night ratified a tentative contract reached last week with Northern Montana Health Care.

Raymond Berg, a labor relations specialist with the Montana Nurses Association, said 93 percent of the members of Local No. 12 who voted cast ballots to approve the contract.

The union represents about 100 of about 150 nurses at Northern Montana Health Care.

The two-year contract includes an 8.8 percent first-year raise for hospital and long-term care registered nurses, and a 9.2 percent first-year raise for RNs working in doctors' offices. The contract also gives a second-yea...
