Postal study backs move to Great Falls


Havre's Post Office could soon lose one of its mail sorters and "some mail processing operations. "

The U. S. Postal Service announced on March 18 it was going to start a 30-day study into feasability of consolidating much of its mail processing in Great Falls. The study was looking at moving operations from Havre, Helena and Butte into the Great Falls Processing and Distribution Facility.

Today USPS announced that it has already determined that such a consolidation could save them $24,000 in Havre, or around $510,000 if all three post offices the study looked at consolidated in Great Fal...
