Fresno Dam bridge closing for repairs

The bridge across Fresno Dam will close at the end of the month for repairs, while another project will replace a bridge north of Rudyard with culverts, although the date on that project is not yet set.

The Hill County Commission announced this morning that the the county will close the Fresno Dam Spillway Bridge from April 25 through May 11 to replace the bridge.

Access will be maintained to the adjacent boat ramp and fishing access site during construction.

People needing to access the other side will need to use State Secondary Highway 232, commonly called Wild Horse Road, and turn off on County Road 70 North, 9 miles north of Havre.

The other project, replacing Herman Bridge 12 miles north of Rudyard, is still waiting final engineering and a date will be set once that is complete.

The project is being paid for with a $174,082 Treasure State Endowment Program grant and a $117,975.32 county match which includes in-kind services for the work on the projects and money from the county Road and Bridge Department budget and gas tax money.
