With Mother's Day just around the corner, local businesses are gearing up for the big day. This year, Mother's Day is Sunday, May 10. From flower arrangements to candy bouquets, a wide selection of gifts are purchased to honor mothers.

Angie's Wildflowers

Angela Pratt, owner of Angie's Wildflowers, said that in addition to the wide selection of real and silk flowers, her store offers a variety of gifts for Mother's Day.

"We have jewelry, bath and body products, cards and candy," she said. "We have pretty much anything you can think of."

Pratt said classes titled "I've Made This for You" are available on a call-in basis throughout today for kids to make their own flower arrangements. This gives kids a chance to add a personal touch to Mom's bouquet.

"They build their own little arrangements and make their own little card," she said.

Angie's Wildflowers is located at 39 1st St. and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Biem said her shop has a new selection of items as well, including mason jar mugs, novelty metal birds and tea pots.

"Some of these smaller gifts can actually be put inside of bouquets," she said.

Terri added that in honor of Mother's Day, the shop is offering 25 percent off all Mother's Day items.

"It's a day to be able to recognize mothers and thank them for everything they represent and do," she said.
