CJI speech team wins at Havre tournament

The Chester-Joplin-Inverness speech team kicked off its 2017-2018 season at the Havre Invitational Saturday.

Senior Zak Heimbigner competed in his first speech meet and participated in impromptu speaking. Students competing in impromptu speaking have three minutes to prepare a three-to five-minute speech about a cartoon or quotation.

Heimbigner received the highest ranking from all three judges in the finals round to claim the title in his event.
