Governor's Humanities Awards celebration set for next week

The 2019 Governor’s Humanities Awards is set to celebrate five Montanans Thursday in Helena.

The Montana humanists, who have served the state through public programs, scholarship, exceptional writing and commitment to community, are historian Stephenie Ambrose Tubbs of Helena; Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives Director Ellen Crain of Butte; Professor and Chair of English, Montana State University Billings Tami Haaland of Billings; author Thomas McGuane of McLeod; and Professor of Religious Thought, Rocky Mountain College Elizabeth McNamer of Billings.
