Havre Police Department

A Washington Avenue caller reported Tuesday at 7:20 a.m. a man was attempting to steal a vehicle. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.


A vehicle crash was reported Tuesday at 7:51 a.m. at an 11th Street West business.


Tuesday at 4:08 p.m. a water leak reported on First Avenue was referred to another agency.


An officer on Fifth Avenue helped someone move their vehicle out of the street Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.


Someone on Fourth Avenue reported an alarming text message Tuesday at 11:42 p.m., and officers issued a written or verbal warning.


An officer initiated investigation of people arguing outside on Fourth Avenue at 12:03 a.m. today and issued a written or verbal warning.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Elias Paul Lamere of Box Elder, 22, was issued a summons on a shoplifting charge after a caller at a U.S. Highway 87 business in Box Elder reported two 12-packs were stolen.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to one call Tuesday.


Firefighters were called to the 1200 Block of Second Street at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday when the caller thought sparks were coming from a dryer vent. The sparks were coming from a pellet stove vent, and firefighters had the home owner shut off the stove and call the installer to fix the problem.

Havre Animal Shelter

The Havre shelter this morning held two medium-hair cats, two long-hair 7-month-old kittens, one long-hair 9-month-old kitten and a medium-hair 6-month-old kitten all of unknown gender, one medium-hair female cat, four medium-hair male cats, one long-hair male cat and one short-hair male cat; as well as two cats for its trap-spay/neuter-release program.


The Havre shelter also held this morning a female mixed-breed dog, a male mixed-breed 21-week-old puppy, female shepherd-Labrador retriever dog, a male golden retriever dog, a male border collie dog, a male mixed-breed 12-week-old puppy, two male pit bull terrier dogs and a male 23-week-old puppy.
