Havre Trails hiking Upper Rotary Canyon Loop Trail

Havre Trails has invited hikers to join the group Saturday for a hike on the brand-new Upper Rotary Canyon Loop Trail in Beaver Creek Park.

The trail was constructed this summer and loops through Rotary Canyon at Bear Paw Lake in Beaver Creek Park. Hikers will be treated to excellent views of the Bear Paws, the lake, Beaver Creek and the fall colors in the park.

The hike is moderately difficult with a few steep areas and a couple of small streams or gaps to traverse. All are welcome to join and take their time hiking. 

The meeting time is 2 p.m. but car poolers can meet at the District 4 Human Resources Development Council parking lot at 2229 Fifth Ave. to group up at 1:30 p.m. Otherwise, everyone is to meet at the trailhead at Bear Paw Lake at 2 p.m.

Hike Length: 2.68 miles

Elevation Gain: 380 feet

Terrain Difficulty: Moderate. This hike is steeper in some places and there are a few small creek or gap crossings to traverse.

Dogs are allowed on a leash. People should remember to bring sun protection, snacks and lots of water,
