Northern Montana Child Development Center announced it will be closed through March 27.

Gov. Steve Bullock issued a proclamation closing public schools through March 27.

“As a result, we do not have access to meals for our program and many staff members need to stay home to provide childcare for their children,” District 4 Human Resources Development Council said in a statement. “NMCDC’s inability to provide food and staff for classrooms means we have no other choice but to close our program for the duration of our school districts closures. It was our hope to be able to continue offering those services, but at this point we have no other option.”

The release said that all families should be contacted by their teachers to ensure that everyone is aware of the closure and to see how NMCDC can support the families.

“We will continue to use social media, the radio and the Havre Daily News to keep the public aware of any further developments,” the statement said. “At this time, HRDC does not intend to close any other programming. Please call 265-6473 and ask for Executive Director Carilla French with any questions.”
