BLM makes progress on Little Rockies fire containment

The Mud Creek Fire in the Missouri River Breaks about 6 miles outside of Fort Belknap Indian Reservation was designated 100 percent contained Saturday night at a little more than 93 acres.

Bureau of Land Management Lewistown Duty Officer Don Pyrah said personnel remained on scene to monitor internal fire activity and that burning was still going on, but there was no apparent risk of the fire expanding.

A fire in Blaine County which Pyrah said was about 3 acres large was deemed 100 percent contained that night as well.

Pyrah said Fergus County also saw a fire north of Fort Benton which was about 50 acres and was considered 50 percent contained with crews still working on it as of Saturday night.

He also said a three-acre fire in southern Philips County is 75 percent contained as of the same time.
