City Council approves street closures for restart on Bear Paw Marathon

Work progresses for July 1 switch to charter government

The Havre City Council approved road closures for a local marathon and the appointment of a new probationary police officer at their monthly meeting Monday evening.

Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julea Robbins said her organization was going to hold a marathon last year, the inaugural Bear Paw Marathon, but it had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.

She said they will likely be able to hold it this year and the Chamber has put plans in place to do so safely by host out-of-state runners remotely as well as local runners if they choose.
