Resurfacing planned for Highway 223 south of Chester

The Montana Department of Transportation announced and invited the public to comment on a proposal to apply a scrub seal and new pavement markings on about 22 miles of Highway 223, south of Chester.

The project begins approximately south of the Liberty/Chouteau county line and extends north for 22 miles, ending 5 miles south of Chester.

Proposed work includes a scrub seal, new pavement markings, new warning and regulatory signs, and a bridge deck repair and seal over the Marias River bridge. The purpose of the project is to preserve the existing pavement and extend the service li...
