Letter to the Editor - Please slow down

Editor,

We live in a unincorporated farm community. On a dirt road. It’s harvest. We understand very much. Feeding people has been a passion of mine for a while. We get it.

However, we are concerned with the speed you go down this road and the billowing cloud of dust you leave in your wake. Not only does it take your breath away, but it is also kind of rude.

The safety of ourselves and our pets is also a concern. Please think about what it would do to someone, if Baby Kitty got spooked and ran that way, as your careening vehicle was coming down the street. Or my big, beautiful dog’s cable broke as you were speeding unnecessarily. Devastating to some people.

What is the reason for flooring it in town? Do you not see us in the yard, hanging clothes or just hanging out? How could you, we are covered in the dust you created.

It is possible to go a certain speed and not throw any dust. Please, please slow down.

Retaliation, why do it, I am only asking for some consideration. Plain and simple, not on me if it cannot be given.

I am not the judge and jury. You’re just making yourselves look bad. Please stop pointing fingers and slow down. We want to live here and have a home and friends. Geez I left high school really a long time ago. Please slow down. For the love of God, please slow down.
